Titanium hex bolts are the ideal fastener for applications where strength and corrosion are a concern. Aptly named for the titans of Greek mythology, titanium is the perfect material for outdoor or structural applications.

A hex bolt is a threaded fastener with a hexagonal-shaped head which can be tightened with a wrench or socket. The term hex head cap screw is generally used interchangeably with hex bolt. Hex bolts are typically used with nuts and washers and are used in a variety of manufacturing and industrial applications. They are used to join wood, metal, and composite materials. Normally, hex bolts are reserved for construction purposes, such as joining wood or metal beams.

In an application where long term installations under harsh conditions are common, using a hex bolt made of steel that will inevitably rust and corrode can be an expensive and time consuming mistake. Titanium hex bolts are not only corrosion proof in the natural environment, but they also weigh nearly half as much as their stainless steel counterparts. Known primarily for its amazing strength-to-weight ratio, titanium is lighter, corrosion free and also stronger. A grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium flange bolt is approximately 3 and a half times stronger than one made of high quality 316 stainless steel.
